One of the Chinese companies I’ve been following for the past decade is INTAMSYS, a leading innovator in industrial 3D printing technologies. I first met the company at the Formnext show in 2017, when it was still a small company with a bold vision—enabling the use of high-performance thermoplastic polymers.
Since then, the company has made significant progress in developing its products and making them accessible to users worldwide. With its headquarters in China and offices in the USA and Germany, the company offers its solutions through dozens of sales partners specializing in reselling FFF 3D printing systems.
TCT Asia 2025 was a great opportunity to meet the team and learn about their recent achievements and newly introduced products.

Strategic Investment and Industry Recognition
Since its founding, INTAMSYS has undergone several funding rounds to support its growth and technological advancements in the 3D printing industry. One of the most significant rounds took place in December 2021, when the company received a strategic investment from Porsche Ventures—marking Porsche's first venture into additive manufacturing. This investment underscores the growing importance of 3D printing in the automotive industry and highlights INTAMSYS’s pivotal role in advancing digital manufacturing strategies.
Jens Puttfarcken, President and CEO of Porsche China, emphasized the significance of digital transformation in production, stating that Porsche aims to expand the application of additive manufacturing to provide customers with more flexible production and customization services.

Pioneering High-Performance 3D Printing
Back in 2016, Stratasys has dominated FFF 3D printing of advanced materials, only a handful of vendors still set out to start in this field. Their shared goal was to make high-performance thermoplastic 3D printing more accessible. Among them, INTAMSYS stood out by focusing on developing professional yet affordable solutions tailored to small and medium-sized businesses.
Today, the company’s product lineup includes the renowned FUNMAT series, capable of processing high-performance polymers such as PEKK, PEEK, ULTEM, PPSU, and PPS. These materials are valued for their outstanding mechanical properties, making them ideal for demanding applications across various industries.
In addition to its hardware, INTAMSYS also offers advanced software tools and dedicated materials, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for planning and managing the production of 3D printed parts.

The Highlights of TCT Asia
At the event, the company highlighted several compelling case studies from various industries. The main objective was to demonstrate how its technology can significantly reduce both costs and time to market for prototypes and end-use parts:
PEI 9085 Aircraft Instrument Glove Box: No-mold manufacturing + reverse engineering reduced production time to just one week. CAAC-certified for aviation safety compliance.
1.6m Automotive Luggage Compartment Gauge: 3D-printed PPA-CF structure ensures ±2mm precision. 40% weight reduction and flexible fixture solutions enhance assembly efficiency.
PPA-CF Humanoid Robot Shell: 70% lighter than aluminum, 40% cost reduction. No tooling required, enabling rapid design iterations.
High-Density Tungsten Alloy Components: FFF-printed tungsten alloy parts for medical radiation shielding.

However, the main attraction at the booth—the one that drew the most attention from visitors—was the company’s new 3D printer: the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO. Continuing its trajectory of innovation, INTAMSYS unveiled this entry-level industrial high-speed 3D printer in September 2024. It combines rapid printing capabilities with exceptional print quality, material versatility, industrial performance, all within a compact, desktop-sized footprint.
Amid growing demand for agile and high-performance manufacturing solutions, the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO is engineered to empower industrial users with enhanced prototyping and small-batch production capabilities—supporting a wider range of engineering even high-performance polymers, including PC, PC-FR, PC/PBT, PC-ABS, PPS, PPS-CF, PPS-GF, ABS-HS, PA12-CF, PPA-CF, PPA-GF, and PLA, to meet the rigorous requirements of aerospace, automotive, electronic manufacturing and other demanding sectors.
Equipped with an independent dual-extrusion (IDEX) system, the FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO enables high-efficiency small batch production, seamless support material printing, and multi-material part fabrication—all without the need for nozzle changes. Its product manager mentioned it doubles the capacity of 500-1000g/day in duplicate and mirror modes. Its intuitive interface and smart features further streamline the workflow for industrial users.
More importantly, its active heated chamber maintains a consistent temperature up to 100°C, ensuring full-format printing without thermal deformation and shrinkage of the model for all supported materials, and optimizing material properties and mechanical strength to satisfy industrial requirements. Another impressive thing I would mention is that auto mesh leveling and auto Z-axis calibration at such high chamber temperatures is very rare!
Commitment to Advancing Additive Manufacturing
INTAMSYS is one of the few Chinese companies that recognized early on that, despite the significant potential of the domestic AM market, building a strong global presence would be critical for long-term success. Today, the company is well-positioned in both EMEA and North America, supported by strong brand recognition and a mature portfolio of solutions.
With a steadfast commitment to research and development, INTAMSYS continues to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing. Its focus on expanding material capabilities and enhancing printing technologies solidifies its position as a key player in the ongoing evolution of digital manufacturing. As industries around the world increasingly adopt 3D printing solutions, INTAMSYS’s innovations are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing.
